Description

Day

Departure on Sunday morning around 6:30 from the docks of Saint-Louis aboard the Bou el Mogdad cruise ship, to go up the Senegal River towards the Djoudj National Bird Park.

You will have your breakfast and lunch on board the ship. Passing the Diama dam, which marks the limit of fresh and salt waters, then arrival at the Park where you will board the shuttle that will drop you off on dry land with a guide from the Djoudj.

The tour will start with a classic pirogue ride; equipped with your binoculars you will be able to spot: white egret, cormorant, African eagle, warthog, pelican, etc. If you are lucky, a crocodile might even stick its head out of the water to scare you! Then, you will go for a walk and visit the various observation points of the park such as the large lake or the watchtowers that allow you to observe flamingos. A passionate guide will whisper to you the well-kept secrets of the Djoudj that are not in the program of many visitors.

Return to Saint-Louis in the late afternoon aboard an air-conditioned vehicle.

NB: Excursion possible from the end of October/beginning of November until the month of May. Departure every other Sunday.
